The Very First of 11,000 Trees
After the recent Beelbi Creek Road upgrade, the area was restored by the Caring for Country team with 11,000 trees which included over 50 different native species of plants, including banksia, black wattle, and casuarina trees.
These trees were all locally sourced from the Maryborough Aboriginal Corporation for Housing and Cultural Development (MACorp).
These species were chosen to contribute to restoration of habitat for the endangered and rare Red-Tailed Black Cockatoo, known to the Butchulla people as darunba.
Outstanding work by our Caring for Country team. We are so proud!
