BNTAC Land and Sea Rangers Bring the Butchulla Monument Back to Life

BNTAC Land and Sea Rangers Bring the Butchulla Monument Back to Life

by | 31 Oct, 2023 | Blog

Greetings, everyone! We have some exciting news to share from the heart of Butchulla Country. Our dedicated Land and Sea Rangers have been hard at work recently, breathing new life into a cherished local treasure, the Butchulla Monument.

This iconic monument stands as a testament to our rich cultural heritage and the deep connection we have with our Country (land, sea, and sky). Over time, the elements had taken their toll, and the monument was in need of some TLC.

Our incredible Land and Sea Rangers, armed with passion, respect for tradition, and a strong commitment to preserving our history, took on the task with enthusiasm. They embarked on a mission to clean, restore, and revitalise the monument, and the results are nothing short of remarkable.

The monument now stands as a vibrant, powerful symbol of our culture and the unbreakable bond we share with Butchulla Country. It is a reminder of our determination to protect and honour our heritage, ensuring that it continues to inspire and educate both our community and visitors alike.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to our Land and Sea Rangers for their hard work, dedication, and love for our culture and land. Their efforts serve as a shining example of the positive impact that can be achieved when a community comes together to protect its heritage.

As we look toward the future, we remain committed to preserving our culture and sharing it with the world. Stay tuned for more updates on our journey and join us in celebrating the resilience and vibrancy of Butchulla Country.
Until next time, let’s continue to honour our traditions and build a brighter future together. Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey!

Yours in gratitude
Veronica Bird, General Manager, BNTAC – Butchulla Native Title Aboriginal Corporation
