The 25th Annual K’gari Clean Up Event (8–11 May 2026) was one to remember and BNTAC was proud to be part of it.
Together with Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, BNTAC Rangers welcomed 695 volunteers, sharing knowledge about K’gari’s deep cultural significance, its unique wildlife, and the importance of protecting this special place for future generations.
It was inspiring to see 24 clubs, 695 attendees and 350 vehicles come together with one shared goal. From Ngkala Rocks to the Manta Ray Barge landing, volunteers rolled up their sleeves and removed an incredible 4.7 tonnes of rubbish, helping to keep K’gari pristine.
For BNTAC, events like this are about connection. Connection to land, culture, and each other. Seeing so many people respectfully engaging with K’gari and learning about Butchulla heritage makes this milestone event even more meaningful.
Thank you to everyone who participated, listened, and helped protect K’gari.
