The Butchulla Native Title Aboriginal Corporation (BNTAC) Rangers made a strong and positive impression at the annual Employment Training and Pathways event held on March 17, 2026, at the TAFE Hervey Bay campus. Representing both the Djaa Narawi Ranger team and the Caring for Country team, the rangers showcased the important work they carry out every day across the region, highlighting their role in environmental stewardship, cultural heritage protection, and land management.
Throughout the event, the Rangers engaged with students, educators, and industry representatives, offering valuable insight into the diverse range of operational tasks they perform. From land and sea management practices to conservation efforts and cultural site preservation, their presence provided a meaningful opportunity for attendees to learn about career pathways connected to Country and community.
The event brought together a wide range of stakeholders and agencies from across the region, creating a vibrant space for networking, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing. The BNTAC Rangers used this opportunity to build connections, strengthen partnerships, and promote the importance of Indigenous-led environmental management.

A variety of stalls were set up across the campus, each designed to support students as they explore their future career options. These stalls offered guidance on training opportunities, employment pathways, and skill development, helping young people feel more confident and prepared as they plan their next steps for the future. The Rangers’ participation not only showcased their expertise and dedication but also inspired many students to consider meaningful careers that contribute to caring for Country and community. Their involvement highlighted the value of cultural knowledge in modern land management and reinforced the importance of creating pathways for the next generation.

Overall, the event was a great success, with the BNTAC Rangers playing a key role in engaging, educating, and inspiring future leaders while strengthening connections across the region.
